blogger Parvez Ahmed writes: Memo to Osama bin Laden:

“We are hopeful that your demise will bring some measure of comfort to all the families who have to contend daily with the loss of their loved ones. We are also hopeful that your departure provides renewed opportunities for building stronger bridges of understanding across faiths and cultures…

…You are a criminal who deserves to be punished by death….[Your] demise should be welcomed by all who believe in peace and human dignity.”

Coming from an ethnic American, that’s very rich!  America’s present day  “War on Terror” sounds eerily reminiscent of yesterday’s Big  Hoot and Holler: “Manifest Destiiny” –   which was one fancy rationalization for the growing republic’s campaign to clear the continent of its prior, rightful owners, the many Native Nations. Today’s barbaric yodeling and jubilation at the assassination  of Osama Bin Laden  brings immediately to mind  the joyous hue and cry raised across 19th century America at the deaths of Sioux Indian chiefs Bigfoot and and Sitting Bull, both captive in their own lands. Enlightened people today call that genocide.❜
